  1. Gran Turismo Sport announced at Paris Games Week
Kazunori Yamauchi reveals the first GT title for PS4, coming 2016
Racing fans, brace yourselves – this afternoon at the Paris Games Week PlayStation Press Conference, Kazunori Yamauchi, along with SCEE CEO & President Jim Ryan, unveiled on stage the latest Gran Turismo iteration: GT Sport, coming to PS4 in 2016.

On stage, the Polyphony team talked about the advances that the PS4 offers to allow them to continue to improve the graphics, physics and sound to deliver the most realistic driving simulator to date. But with GT Sport they’re looking to deliver more than that; to deliver a revolution in the way that people experience driving games, a figurative “rebirth” of motorsports.

    FIA Gran Turismo Championships
In Gran Turismo Sport, there will be two online championships officially sanctioned by the FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) running simultaneously. In the Nations Cup, players will be able represent their home country. Whilst in the Manufacturers Cup, players will be driving on behalf of their favorite car manufacturer.

Players will not only be able to race as drivers themselves, they’ll also be able to root for their home country or their favorite manufacturers teams.

The winner of the championship will be awarded at the FIA prize giving ceremony, alongside real life motorsports champions. This will be a historic moment, the first time a video game will officially be recognised as part of the real motoring world.

    FIA Partnership
Working alongside the historic FIA, to develop a game that continues to be more realistic and authentic, the online racing championships promise to offer something new for players.

But it’s not just about online racing; the GT teams have continued to build on the games legacy of accessibility to ensure that the game is open to all to enjoy.

With the beta expected to begin in Spring 2016, it won’t be long before players can experience all GT has to offer on the power of the PS4.

    1. Where's Dean and his Datsun, need to renew the rivalry

(need to get the ps4 first)
    2. Rumours are this won't be released by end of 2016 and possibility of a 2017 release instead.

Since the announcement that sport would be released on PS4 there has been no details since.

A beta was scheduled to be released early 2016, then mentioned for spring but still no solid mention of access.

This isn't a surprise from the gt series though the fifth game was hit with delays as well, if it brings back the magic of that title then I say don't rush it and give us the best game they can.

    5. Live stream..
    6. It looks like they still haven't included damage unless they do that later and the sound is still pretty poor
    7. Just watched the final race on hamburgerring subaru was a dirty racer caught a few shuffle moments.

Has my interest looking to see more gameplay though on different tracks and see more details of game modes etc.
    8. We now have a much better idea of what GT Sport or Gran Turismo 7 will be when it’s released on the 18th November. At an event in London, Kazunori Yamauchi has announced key aspects of the game, and promised that “GT Sport is going to be offering a level of innovation that hasn’t been seen since the first Gran Turismo.” And actually, it sounds like he could be right.

GT Sport (Gran Turismo 7) Modes
Gran Turismo used to be called the ‘Real Racing Simulator’ and then later the ‘Real Driving Simulator’ - but with GT Sport, Polyphony has extended the scope of things once again. GT Sport contains more modes than we’ve seen in a Gran Turismo game, and they’re all designed to essentially make you a virtual racing driver. Of course there’s an Arcade mode that lets you race against AI, against your friends and even against yourself, but GT Sport also adds other modes that really take things to the next level.

There’s a Campaign mode where you progress through the ranks, and even tutorials and a Circuit Experience mode that encourages you to master every square metre of tarmac. But don’t worry, this won’t be like the laborious Driving Licences of the old Gran Turismo games; this time round you’ll be able to learn fast and progress quickly - so it’s all about progression, not resistance. There’s a lot more here than you’d expect; before you even delve into the online ‘Sport’ modes of the game, there’s 137 offline challenges to complete.

GT Sport goes big on online multiplayer
And what about that Sports mode? Well, this time round it’s more than just multiplayer, it’s an online competition supported by the FIA. Yes, the same FIA body that controls Formula 1. You can either race by nation or choose a manufacturer to support, but the overall aim is clean, professional - and almost lifelike racing.

After you’ve learnt your Racing Etiquette (this is actually a mode , perhaps someone should tell Rosberg) you can compete against the rest of the world. Polyphony doesn’t want you to get lost in a leaderboard though, so it’s splitting up players based on age and region. That way you’ve got a much better chance of being a winner.

GT Sport has way more social elements
GT Sport also has a strong social element that takes a leaf out of games like Destiny and Battlefield, too. Each player will have a newsfeed and profile containing their achievements, and GT Sport will also come with a companion app so you can check your stats on the go. If you want to do that sort of stuff.

GT Sport (Gran Turismo 7) Cars & tracks
GT Sport will feature 137 cars in total, but will split them into four classes beginning with GR.4 and rising in performance to GR.1 However, these cars won’t all be real; Polyphony Digital will supplement the real cars with virtual, concept ones too.

As for the tracks? GT Sport will come with 19 locations, but that’ll also then divide into 27 tracks. Although there isn’t a full list of tracks at present, we do know that there'll be two dirt tracks, and Kent’s legendary Brands Hatch will be returning to the game. They'll also be a new Tokyo Speedway track based on actual Japanese highways - oh, and the Nordschleife.
